Michael “Mike” Hunt Baumann, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born January 2, 1944, to W.E. Baumann and Betty Hunt Baumann, Stephenville, Texas. On November 30, 1974, he married Eugenia “Genie” Shyrl Tremaine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and Oklahoma State University Football.
Survivors include his wife Genie; his daughter, Lisa Karen; son-in-law, Shane Reagan Leach; and his loving dog, Zorro; as well as the Matulnes and Tremaine Family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Karen.
Mike enjoyed his life and did any task with gusto. He was a proud Marine and served his country with honor. Major Baumann was awarded a bronze star in the Vietnam war. He loved is wife and daughter with all his heart and he would do anything for his loves. Mike grew up in Stillwater with his family. He was a football star, as a running back for the Stillwater Pioneers. Mike and Genie were married 43 years. Their family grew to 3 when Lisa Karen was adopted in 1984.

Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved going to his farm to play. Mike was mostly a quiet man until riled by something he felt was wrong. Then it was Katy bar the door. He will be sorely missed.
A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., located at the Strode Funeral Home, 610 S. Duncan Street, Stillwater, OK.
