Obituary for Anita Jane Lambert
Anita "Jane" Lambert, 72, of Stillwater, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2023 at Stillwater Creek Skilled Nursing and Therapy Center. Upon the request of Jane, she will be cremated and her ashes spread in Carlsbad, New Mexico at a future date. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Jane was born on August 16, 1951 to Ben and Jewel Rice in Carlsbad, New Mexico. In 1965 after her father's death, her mother moved Jane and her two sisters to Oklahoma. Where Jane attended N.W. Classen, but later moved to Moore, where she graduated. After high school, she attended Oklahoma State University.
In 1972, Jane met James Michael "Mike" Lambert. Jane and Mike were married in 1973, resulting in the birth of their only daughter, Heather Rachelle Lambert. The marriage ended in 1979.
Jane was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Jewel Rice, and her sister, Rebecca "Becky" Sanders. She is survived by her daughter Heather Lambert Spiva, son - in - law, Jeff Spiva, grandsons, Thomas and Johnathan Spiva, sister Katherine "Kathy" Behjati, as well as five nephews and one niece.
Those wishing to honor Jane may do so by donating to Oklahoma Heart Institute, an organization Jane felt strongly about since her father died of heart disease.
