Obituary for Brenda Joyce Maness

Brenda J. Maness, 77, of Perkins, Oklahoma passed away on March 30, 2023 after suffering with declining health for many years. She will come to her final resting place at 2:00 p.m. April 15, 2023 in the Pioneer Cemetery located in her beloved hometown of Beaver, Oklahoma.


Brenda was born in Opp, Alabama on December 30, 1945 to Bennie Claudene Day and Allie Elmer Day (Carpenter). She was sister to Bobby, Donnie, Bennie, Johnny, Frankie, Freddy, and Ray Day.


Once you entered Brenda's heart and family, you were loved and stayed in her heart forever, and she was a true best friend to many. Brenda worked hard all her life. Her hobbies included car repair and painting, and she was a master chef and crochet artist. Brenda was also very passionate about her hometown of Beaver, Oklahoma and was an active participant in making it what it is today.


She belonged to the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club for over 30 years and served on the Beaver City Council for 12 years, 2 of which she served as mayor. Additionally, she owned and operated her own dog grooming/boarding business for over 40 years and served the Beaver Friends of the Library.


Brenda is survived by sons Richard T. and Anthony W. Maness; daughters Roylene Huckins and Shannon Caseltine; grandchildren T.J. Maness, Cody Maness, Misti Chavez, Sarah Caseltine, and Michael Caseltine; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
