Obituary for Cheryl Lynn Ryan

Cheryl Lynn Creager Ryan was born on February 14, 1953 to Lawrence and Pearl (Focht) Creager. She passed from this life on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 70 years of age. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at the Pawnee First Baptist Church with burial following in the Glencoe South / IOOF Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Cheryl was born in Pawnee and raised in the Glencoe community where she graduated high school with the class of 1971. She married Bob Stossel in November 1971 and from that union came two children, Bobby and Jami. She earned her bachelor's degree in education at Oklahoma State University. She married JR (Earl) Ryan on July 10, 1981. She continued her education while raising a blended family and received a masters as a reading specialist at Oklahoma State University.

Cheryl and JR made their home in Pawnee where she remained employed by Pawnee Public Schools for over 40 years. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she especially enjoyed attending their sporting events. Cheryl was known for her mild personality except when it came to bad referee calls against her great-grandchildren...they could do no wrong in GG's eyes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Pearl Creager. She is survived by her husband JR of the home; her son Bobby Stossel and wife Misty of Glencoe, daughter Jami Stossel of Glencoe, son Chris Ryan and wife Laurie of Stillwater, and son Marc Ryan of Washington. She is also survived by her grandchildren Garrett Stossel, Callan and Rachel Stossel, Stetson Coe, Jacob Ryan, Shayla Ryan, Madison Ryan, and Gavin Ryan; her great-grandchildren Elcee and Laramie Stossel; her brother Wilber K. Buntin and wife Naomi; and her sister Brenda Ross.
