Obituary for Criss Lee McGinty
Criss Lee McGinty, 65, died August 14, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in the Glencoe South Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Criss was born to Bill and Joan (Phelps) McGinty April 28, 1958 in Stillwater.
He was a graduate of Glencoe High School and attended Oklahoma State University. He worked at Glencoe Sate Bank as a cashier, vice-president and board member. He married Beverly Smith on May 27, 1977 in Glencoe. He was a member of Glencoe First Baptist Church. His hobbies included playing golf, fishing and was an amateur Storm chaser, and he loved OSU Athletics.
Criss is preceded in death by his mother, Joan McGinty; Grandfather, Clarence "Mac" McGinty; Grandmother, Peggy McGinty; Grandfather, Calvin "Ikey" Phelps and Grandmother, Grace Phelps.
He is survived by his father, Bill; and wife, Beverly. One son, Ty McGinty and wife Jenn Wolf-McGinty; one sister, Rhonda Hodges; and a host of other family members and friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Glencoe First Baptist Church and Strode Funeral Home and Cremation. As well as a special thank you for all the wonderful food, calls, cards, and especially the prayers for our family.
