Obituary for David Bodie Turner
David “Bodie” Turner was born September 12, 1967 to David and Janet (Dupree) Turner in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Bodie grew up in Perkins and graduated from Perkins-Tryon in 1985. Bodie departed this life on December 7, 2022 at the young age of 55. To say that he will be missed is an understatement.
He married Darena (Hise) Turner and they welcomed their son Dakota Turner into the family. The couple later divorced. Bodie was married to Angie (Denham) Turner for several years, they were later divorced.
Bodie loved to hunt and fish with his son Dakota. He was known for playing jokes, teasing people and just generally being ornery. He loved OU football and was a big fan. He even talked someone at Reynolds Ford into installing a TV in front of his office so that he could catch the game in between helping his customers, of which he had many! When he first started selling cars, he thought it would be a temporary gig. He ended up making a career out of it, and enjoyed many years with his dealership family.
Bodie was preceded in death by his dad David, his mom Janet, his brother-in-law Lynn Johnson and other family members that he was close to.
He is survived by his son Dakota, his three sisters, Teresa (Mike) Crawford, Angie Johnson, Krista (Shon) Sweeten, his dad Ken Sweeten, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and his many friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Strode Funeral Home. The family encourages you to wear your favorite OU Sooner shirt or OU colors.
