Born in Quail, Texas on February 25, 1931, to Orville Bradley and Cordie Frazier (Carter). Leon was the first of two sons. Upon his 1949 graduation from high school in Hitchita, Oklahoma, Leon moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Shortly after, he was introduced to Rosella Genevieve Sprenger by one of his graduating classmates who was attending business college with her. That fateful introduction led to a 70-year marriage, during which they were blessed with five children, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. Following his service as an Army Ranger conducting Ski Patrol in Japan during the Korean War, he and Rosella started their family, and he began his career with Skelly Oil Company.
His career endured many mergers which led to transfers and opportunities until his retirement from Texaco Oil Company in 1989. The plan was to enjoy Grand Lake life, but a trip to reunite with friends led Leon and Rosella to Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Texas. After one weekend there, they fell in love with the community and bought a home in which they lived 27 years filled with the service of volunteerism and friendship in semi-retirement. Active Parishioner’s at St. Francis Cabrini, in Granbury, Leon rose to the level of Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus, where he shepherded countless events, the least of which were the Friday night fish fry’s during lent. Service was always at his soul and he volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels. However, he found his true calling while volunteering with the Pecan Plantation EMS. Amid utilizing his mechanical skills, Leon became an EMT at the age of 78 and served in that capacity until he was 85 years old when he retired permanently to care for ‘his sweetie’. His dedication and devotion to their vows will serve as an example for all of us for the remainder of our days. He and Rosella recently moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family, for which we will always be grateful.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Rosella Genevieve Frazier and their beloved daughter Carla Jo Frazier; parents; OB and Cordie Frazier; brother JB Frazier; and son in law Stan Johnson.
