Obituary for Glen Edwin Williams
Glen Edwin Williams, 92, died August 9, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Highland Park United Methodist Church in Stillwater with burial following at the Flynn Cemetery in Cushing.
Glen was born to Bert Allen and Minerva Belle (Leonard) Williams on March 3, 1931. He married Geraldine Faye Rodgers on August 30, 1952.
He earned his master's degree from Oklahoma State University and worked as a Soil Scientist for USDA.
Glen enjoyed golf and was proud of his hole in one on July 3, 1999 at the Amana (Iowa) Colonies Golf Course, Hole 18, 145 yards using a 3 Wood club. Glen was a gifted woodworker and enjoyed creating beautiful furniture with his skills. Glen enjoyed flying and piloting a private plane as well as exercising.
Glen was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Glen is preceded in death by his wife, parents, his daughter, Judy Vomacka and a grandson, Jeremy Williams, as well as one brother, J.D. Williams
Glen is survived by his daughter, Cary Lacefield and husband Doug Quinn, his son, Scott Williams and wife Allison, grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Williams and Beau and Gavin Lacefield, great grandchildren Owen, Lilly and Sam Lacefield and Jacob Williams. He is also survived by two brothers Earl Williams and wife Susie, Leonard Williams, and one sister Barbara Diedrich and husband Doug.
The family request that everyone wear blue in honor of Glen's favorite color.
