Obituary for James Lewis Gordon
James Gordon, age 73, died on December 22, 2022 at his home in Morrison, Oklahoma surrounded by loved ones. His service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7 at the Calvary Assembly of God in Stillwater. A graveside will be held for him at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 at Fort Gibson National with military honors. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
James was born on December 16, 1949 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Donald and Ethel Gordon. James married his wife Mary Teresa (Peterson) Gordon on June 22, 2005 in San Diego, California.
James graduated from Canon McMillin High School in 1968. He then continued his education at Northridge Community College in Northridge, California for two years where he studied communication. James did receive a Bachelors, as well as serving for four years in the Navy on a ship called “Wadell”. James wrote Christian books and was an avid Steeler’s fan. James loved to help people in AA. James loved to help people no matter when or where they needed his help, he was always there.
He is preceded in death by his father Donald C. Gordon and his stepdaughter Teresa Ponce.
James is survived by his mother Ethel Gordon, his loving wife Mary Gordon, his step-son Robert Brown, daughter in law Hazel Brown, son in law Daniel Ponce, granddaughter Danessa Ponce, and several cousins.
