Obituary for Larry Nelson Moorman
Larry Nelson Moorman, age 81, of Perkins, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. A graveside service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Glenwood Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Larry was born to Alvin and Lou Emma (Kinney) Moorman on December 13, 1941 in Coyle, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Coyle High School. He then married the former Galene Edmonson in August 23, 1963.
Throughout his life, Larry had many different professional roles. These roles included employment at Chevorlette Garage, a carpenter, construction worker, City of Perkins, Parks and Recreation, Mayor of Perkins and the Perkins fire chief. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Perkins. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and attending Perkins sporting events.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; wife Galene; daughter Stacey Moorman; brothers Donny, Bob, and Johnny; and stepbrothers Larry and James Phillips.
He is survived by his son Tah Moorman and wife Kristy; grandchildren Colby, Kade, and Brody; sister-in-law's Pat Moorman, Janine Campbell and her husband Burnis; and his step sister Norma Arnett.
