Obituary for Lora Adeline Erwin

Lora Adeline Erwin of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, was called home on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the age of 92. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery.
Lora was born on September 25th, 1930 in Paoli, Oklahoma to parents Lemuel Hulsey and Addie Stephens.
She attended the one-room Crossroads school house and later graduated from Pauls Valley High school in 1948.
She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee and in 1953 she earned her bachelor's degree in home economics from Oklahoma A&M University.
On April 30th, 1954 she married Cecil Raymond Erwin in Coyle, Oklahoma and the couple had three children, Michael, Kim, and Lora (Lori).
Later in 1954 Lora moved to Yuba City, California, where she was an elementary school teacher.
After moving to Anaheim, California in 1960 she worked as a prayer partner at Trinity Broadcasting Network, owned the real estate brokerage Hometown Realty and attended First Baptist Church of Fullerton until returning to Oklahoma in 2004.
Lora was unyielding in her convictions and her faith, often saying "the best place to be is in the center of God's will for us".
Lora enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, cooking the very best fried chicken and gravy, and spending time with her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a lifelong passion for teaching and was the Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters' Girl Scouts troops. She loved to share her life stories and lessons learned with those around her, taking every opportunity to connect with people and pray for them.
Lora was preceded in death by her ex-husband Cecil Raymond Erwin, brother Lemuel Virgil Hulsey Jr., and son Michael Erwin.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim Bleck, son-in-law Knut Bleck, her daughter Lora (Lori) Mueller, son-in-law Bernd Mueller, eight grandchildren, Michael Erwin, Matthew Erwin, Lindsey Miller, Joshua Hiraheta, Raquel Gecks, Alina Bleck, Jennifer Bleck, and Mike Bleck, eight great-grandchildren, as well as her adopted brothers Wayne and Gary Hulsey.
