The family moved to Woodland Park, Colorado where Mark worked for Triple Crown Casinos in Cripple Creek, Colorado. Later, Mark and Shelley moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where he lived his final years.

Mark enjoyed acting in theater productions with his father and brother, playing golf with colleagues, traveling, attending theater events with his wife and daughters, and playing blackjack with his son-in-law, Kevin.
