Obituary for Marvin Ray Bartlett
Marvin Ray Bartlett, 83, died December 12, 2022. Services will begin 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Greater Vision Church in Perkins, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and Cremation. The family invites friends to join them for lunch prior to the service beginning at noon.
Marvin was born to Soloman and Jenny Bartlett in in Oilton, Oklahoma on October 13, 1939. He married Virgina Elaine on May 7, 1988. He worked at Oklahoma State University for 30 years before he retired in 2001.
Marvin loved reading especially his favorite author, Louis L’amour. He had every single book of his and sometimes two copies when one would get worn out. He loved to watch Perry Mason, Adam 12 and football. Saturdays were for Oklahoma State Cowboys and Sundays were for Philadelphia Eagles. His favorite thing to do was play with his grand kids, Olivia and Braylen. There wasn’t a time they walked out of the house without a sugar and a fist bump.
Marvin is preceded in death by his mother, father and 12 siblings.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Lainey Bartlett; brother-in-laws, JD Shaddy and Troy Shaddy; Nephew, Dwight Shaddy; his god daughter, Belinda Donaldson and husband, Thomas Donaldson; God daughter, Samantha Logan and husband, Kevin Logan; daughter Anastasia Murray and Fiancé, Trevor Burris and his grand kids, Olivia and Braylen; as well as many friends and family.
