Obituary for Sidney Clay Davis
Sidney Clay Davis, age 81, of Stillwater, died Tuesday, May 27, 2023 at Stillwater Medical Center. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Church of Christ on McElroy and Duck. Inurnment following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Sidney was born to A.C. (Andy) and Ella (Grubbs) Davis on October 23, 1941 in Walters, Oklahoma of Comanche County. On June 23, 1961 he married Carol (Leturno) in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Their marriage ended on August 15, 2020 when Carol passed away.
Sidney attended Oklahoma Christian College from 1959-1961 and Northeastern State from 1970-1972, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Throughout his life he worked a large variety of jobs, including teacher, preacher, coach, numerous odd jobs, pest control, sales and painting. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Stillwater. Sidney enjoyed people...loving people.
Sidney is preceded in death by his parents A.C. and Ella Davis; wife Carol; Andy and Evelyn Davis; Lanita Eason; and brother Cecil Davis.
Members of his family include Steve Davis and wife Karen of The Colony, Texas, Todd Davis and wife Tina of Pecos, Texas and Kevin of Stillwater; grandchildren Derek and Tiffany Davis, Jose and Brittny Villegas, Robert Davis, Arin and Evelyn Davis, Greg Davis, Michelle Davis, Sydney Davis, Ruben and Amelia Jiminez, Tanner and Tori Davis, Maximas and Kyra Villagas, Levi and Shiloh Jiminez, Cecil Davis, Denise McGuiness, Denette Moffette, and Lanita Eason.
