Obituary for Todd Allen Wilson

Todd Allen Wilson, 59, passed away surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his home next to the window overlooking the pond while listening to the sounds of the crickets and frogs on May 14, 2023. Funeral Services will begin 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at the First Assembly of God in Carney. Burial will follow in the Carney Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Todd was born to Leon and Ada Wilson on April 1, 1964 in Stroud, Oklahoma. He attended Carney school system. Todd married Nita Kay on October 1, 2010. Carney First Assembly of God church held his membership.

Todd enjoyed building with his hands, and was a carpenter at heart. He spent countless hours woodworking, crafting cedar swings, and many other special requests from family and friends. He enjoyed different projects with Nan, working around their home doing whatever made her happy. Hours spent at the pond with family and friends filled his heart. Todd loved children and was "Papa" to any little one that wrapped their arms around the leg of his overalls. Todd was so proud of his kids and never missed an opportunity to encourage them. He loved his momma and was a big family man. Any excuse to bring the family together made Todd happy, including dressing up on Halloween for hayrides with the grandkids, cookouts, and games. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday, and it was always made special for everyone.

Todd was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents Woody and Mozell Wilson and Jim and Nancy Coon.

He is survived by his mother; his wife; children Cody Sweeny, Eric and wife Baylea Wilson, Jake Wilson, Ashley Hurst, Jacob and wife Tommi Thompson, Case and wife Tori Haynes, and Clay and wife Robin Bowen; grandchildren Payton, Keegan, Tripp, Dakota, Elena, Kolbie, Ethan, Bailey, Bo, Lane, Bobby, Isaac, Lyric, Kenley, Kennedy, Jax, Jake, Maddox, Mason, as well as many more that called him Papa; brothers, Joe and Richard Wilson; and his sister Virginia Sharpton.
