Warren was born to William Frederick and Zoe (Watson) Montgomery on April 27, 1933 at his family farm south of Cordell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Cordell High School in 1951 and attended Oklahoma A&M for 2 years. Warren married Wilma Erlene Blackwell on August 27, 1953. To this union, three sons were born Fredrick Dirk, Brett Vance & Terrell Clint Montgomery.

He joined the US Army in 1955 during the Korean War and served for two years as a Radio Operator at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon being discharged from the Army, he became a Bookkeeper at the Farmers Co-Op in Mountain View, Oklahoma. He worked there for several years, and was promoted to Manager. In 1965 he was named Manager of the Farmers Co-Op in Cordell, and moved his family back home. He worked at the Co-Op until 1973 when he went out on his own to become an Insurance Agent, which he remained until he retired.

Later in life, after Erlene had passed away, he married Rhea Ann Bierman of Roosevelt, Oklahoma. Rhea had three children, Quinn, Swanson, and Richelle, and Warren took them in and loved them as his own. Rhea passed away in 2018.

He was an avid sports fan, and supported Oklahoma State University athletics vigorously. His exploits on the softball diamond are well chronicled, having played for 44 years. He played many years with the Oklahoma City Royals senior softball team and won a National Championship with them as their pitcher in 2004.

Survivors include his three sons; three stepchildren; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

He was adored and loved by all his family and numerous friends. All of us will miss him greatly.
