I was so sad to hear of Barbara's death. I considered Barbara a good friend and failed to reciprocate very well. I just thought she would always be there and we would reconnect again when I came out of my social withdrawal. I knew Barbara throughout most of my time at Sandia although we lost touch for several years in the middle. It was a joy when we started working together again. I loved her quirkiness, stubbornness, work ethic, and the fun we had together. We passed many an hour just talking about things - ballooning, doctors, everything except sports (I'm not a sports fan). I always admired her willingness to jump in and do things like remodeling. She will be sorely missed.
